owen hargreaves at manchester City's traning ground
Manchester City manager Robert Manchini is expected to make changes from the squad that played Fulham on Sunday. Manchester City fans were dissapointed with the performance in their 2-2 draw, giving Owen Hargeaves a chance to step into midfeild and show how fit he is.
“I need to speak with Owen and on Tuesday we will decide if he will play, but he probably will. He has been in full training but he is not 100 per cent. He could play maybe 30 to 45 minutes,” said Mancini.
Manchini hopes Hargreaves can help Manchester City in midfield as they have a shortage of players in the middle of the park, and not enough defensive minded midfeilders.
"I don't have players at the moment. I can only change the fullbacks. I have only two midfielders, because James [Milner] and [Nigel] De Jong have injuries."
Manchini was also dissapointed in his players performances and challened the fact, wether they had the right mentality to be champions.
"What team comes here against Fulham in London and has over 70 per cent of ball possession?" he added. "We had the same problem against Wigan at home. We had 15 chances in the first half and we scored only one goal.
"It doesn't always go well if you don't score, if you don't close the game."
Manchini admitted that their defence waas poor.
"For 10 minutes, we defended with five or six players. It is not good enough," he said. "I'm not angry. I'm just disappointed because we conceded two stupid goals."
the two fulham goals were scored by Bobby Zamora and Danny murphy, after Sergio Aguero continued his great form scoring twice.
